Most people who rent a house for a weekend never speak to the owner. Here, you do. Two houses five minutes apart, both just off Frederica Street — the road that runs through Owensboro.
One is a blue bungalow with a guitar on the wall, two sitting rooms and an air-hockey table. The other is a brick ranch where every room is a different country, with a hot tub under string lights out back. Both sleep six. Both have a fenced back yard, a fire pit and a door you unlock yourself.

No stock photographs, no styling, no borrowed rooms. The same two houses in warm black and white, shot by the people who own them.

Had a great time! Loved the jacuzzi!
Three of us were in town for a week-long event at Kentucky Wesleyan College. Kevin's place was the perfect retreat for us only a few blocks away from campus. He was a responsive host, answering questions both before and during our stay. The house was clean, comfortable, and as presented online. We appreciated the quietness of the neighborhood (for sleep) and the stocked kitchen (for meals). It was too hot to try out the hot tub, but we sure appreciated the air-conditioning!
Had a wonderful stay with my brother and some friends while attending omg!con. Wonderful for a weekend getaway.
Rooms were very clean. The hosts were very patient with me when the billing system wasn't going through, I enjoyed the hot hub and instructions were clear.
It was a short stay while on business. Quiet, spacious. Nice neighborhood. Host communicative. Hot tub very relaxing. Would have loved to stay longer.
The host was very friendly and responsive. The house was very clean and comfy.
Enjoyed. Thanks.
The International House is newer: 10 out of 10 on the booking engine, with reviews still to come. If you want proof before you book, the Bluegrass House has it.
These calendars read the owners' own booking engine live. Pick your nights and the total below includes cleaning, damage protection and local taxes — the same figure you'd pay, without the guest service fee Airbnb adds on top.

Book direct, plainly. The nightly rate is the same as on Airbnb. What changes is the fee: Airbnb usually adds a guest service fee of roughly 14% to your total, and it is not small on a three-night stay. Booking here skips it, and you get the owners' phone number.
Cancellation: flexible. Full refund up to 14 days before arrival, 50% up to 7 days. Two-night minimum. Check-in 4pm, check-out 12pm, self check-in with a keypad.
Owensboro is a river town with a barbecue religion, the only bluegrass museum on earth, and a bourbon distillery that has been on the same site since 1885. Here is what we send guests, with honest drive times from each house.
A schematic, not a street map. Exact addresses and arrival instructions are sent when you book.
All 98 photographs the owners have of these two houses.
Including the blurry ones, the duplicates, and the ones with somebody's shoes in the corner. Nothing here is bought, borrowed or staged — this is the whole roll, and it is part of why the rest of it can be trusted.
